The Student Services department serves our students with special needs throughout the District. Their mission is to
promote the academic and social potential of each student by providing education in the least restrictive environment that leads to productive citizenship, while meeting the needs of a culturally, linguistically and intellectually diverse student population. The department's work on implementing standards-based IEPs (individualized education plans) is helping to ensure that students have every opportunity to excel in our district.
Executive Director Elaine Fox completed her Doctor of Education (Ed.D) in February, 2016. She began her teaching career in a private home in Japan in 1993 after earning her Bachelor's Degree. Upon completing her Master's, she accepted a position as a Teacher at the Levi Anderson Learning Center at the St. Mary's Home for Boys in Beaverton. She then became the Interim Administrator for the Center from January 2000 until June 2002, at which point she joined the Special Education team in the Beaverton School District. Elaine came to Hillsboro in 2006 as a Special Education Facilitator, left the following year to lead the Student Services department in Banks, then returned to Hillsboro as a Director of Student Services in 2008. She has been Executive Director since July 2012 and is currently working on her Doctorate.
We look forward to meeting you and your child! Mission: Our mission is to promote the academic and social potential of each student by providing education in the least restrictive environment that leads to productive citizenship, while meeting the needs of a culturally, linguistically and intellectually diverse student population.
