The following programs are offered during the summer to students who meet certain criteria.

8.5 Bridge Summer Program for Incoming Ninth-Graders / Programa "Verano 8.5"

All Hillsboro high schools will host an 8.5 Bridge Summer School Program for incoming ninth-graders which will focus on skill development, math and career/college readiness. The program will run Aug. 1-11, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Students who attend will earn 0.25 elective credit. Breakfast, lunch and transportation will be provided.

Deadline to register for the Summer 8.5 program is Tuesday, June 6. To sign up, please download or pick up a registration form from your middle school counseling center and return the completed form to your middle school counselor or your high school. Registration is limited to the first 60 students per middle school.

Migrant/Bilingual Summer School Programs

The Migrant Program will offer Migrant Summer School for elementary and secondary students. This program is only for those who have been identified as active/current migrant families. There will also be a Dual Language Academy Program for K-6 students enrolled in dual language schools.  English Learner (EL) students may also be eligible to attend secondary summer school.  Transportation will be provided for all students.

July 5 - 27, 2017 (Monday through Thursday) (Thursdays dismissal time is 1 p.m.)

  • Pre-kindergarten and students in grades K-6: classes run 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lincoln Street Elementary School
  • Migrant & Dual Language

July 5 – August 3, 2017 (Monday through Thursday) (Thursday dismissal time is 8 p.m.)

  • Students in grades 7-12: classes run 5:30 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. at Century High School
  • Migrant & EL
