The Business Department is responsible for the global fiscal management of the Hillsboro School District. This responsibility necessitates the oversight of the District's budget. To fulfill these responsibilities, the Finance Department is organized under the following divisions:
Adam Stewart joined the Hillsboro School District in 2008 having served Oregon schools for 27 years as Deputy Clerk, Business Manager and today as Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Stewart has previously held positions at Gervais, Scio and St. Helens School Districts. He has served as president of the Oregon Association of School Business Officials (OASBO) and is currently the chair of the OASBO Professional Certification Program and as the chair of Property and Casualty Coverage for Education (PACE) insurance pool board of trustees. Mr. Stewart received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Oregon State University.
Starting in 2011, Michelle Morrison is Director of Business Services at Hillsboro School District and has served Oregon schools for 17 years. Prior to her current role, she was Business Manager for the Yamhill County School District and has worked on the Oregon Student Access Commission (OSAC).
