Administrative Announcements 2010-11

Superintendent Mike Scott announced the following administrative selections for the 2010-11 school year: 

Lauri Lewis, current principal of Patterson Elementary School, has been selected to serve as Human Resources Director, filling the open administrative position in that department.  Lauri has 20 years of education experience, having taught at elementary and middle school levels for the first seven years of her career, spending the next seven as the assistant principal, then principal, of Evergreen Middle School, and finally leading Patterson over the past six years.  Throughout that time, in addition to championing the learning and achievement of her students, Lauri has repeatedly demonstrated a strong dedication to both her own and staff members’ professional development.  She has a core belief in the value of equity, and has become a trainer/facilitator for both Coaching for Educational Equity (CFEE) and Uniting to Understand Racism (UUR). A process for selecting a new principal at Patterson is still being determined.

The District has also been seeking a new principal for South Meadows Middle School, subsequent to Dave Parker's selection as the fourth executive director in the Office of School Performance.

Arturo Lomeli is returning to the District to serve as the new principal of South Meadows Middle School.  Prior to leaving the District last year to become the assistant principal of Patterson High School in California, Arturo served as dean of students at Thomas Middle School.  In that position, Arturo demonstrated his skill of developing effective systems and creating engaging activities for students.  An example is his design and implementation of a summer Middle School Literacy Academy program that served students who were below benchmark in reading and writing.   Arturo is a strong advocate for parent involvement and staff development, and will work tirelessly to ensure the entire South Meadows community collaborates to provide the best possible education for students.
