Administrative Announcements
Last Updated Jul 2010
The District has been in the process of seeking new assistant principals for both Liberty and Hillsboro High Schools, as well as a new principal for Patterson Elementary School.
Superintendent Mike Scott announced the following selections:
· Andrew DeBois, assistant principal at Liberty High School;
· Brian Sica, assistant principal at Hilhi; and
· Jonathan Pahukula, principal of Patterson Elementary School
Andrew will be assuming the former role of Andy Croley, who left the District to become principal at St. Helens High School. Andrew began his career at Brown Middle School in 1999 as a Social Studies teacher. He then became an assistant principal at Neah-Kah-Nie High School in Rockaway Beach in 2006, and is currently assistant principal at Baker Prairie Middle School in Canby. His experience in managing the school-wide positive behavior intervention support model, implementing student literacy programs, and collaborating with fellow staff and students, positions him for success in this new role.
Brian will be assuming the former role of Anne Erwin, who left the District to become principal at North International High School in Eugene. Brian’s first teaching experiences came in college at the University of Idaho where he was a chemistry teaching assistant. He went on to become a science and math instructor at Shelley Junior High School in Shelley, Idaho, in 2001. In 2002, he transferred to the town’s high school where he taught chemistry and physics and was the science department chair. Brian’s move to Oregon came in 2006 when he took a job at Hilhi as a chemistry and physics instructor. Throughout his tenure at Hilhi, Brian has sought out leadership opportunities, including being the site council facilitator, IB MYP coordinator and a professional learning community leader.
Jonathan will be assuming the former role of Lauri Lewis, who left her principal position at Patterson to become a Human Resources director for the District. Jonathan began his teaching career in 1997 at Poynter Middle School as an 8th grade science and math instructor. He took a one-year hiatus to serve as a science & math mentor for the District in 2001-02, then returned to his position at Poynter before transferring to Brown Middle School in 2005 as its assistant principal. Jonathan has served as a substitute elementary principal at both Butternut Creek and Patterson Elementary Schools, is a PBIS Team administrator, and serves on the EBISS District Leadership Team. He is a dynamic, effective and inclusive leader.
