2012-13 OPEN ENROLLMENT: Dates and Changes

Open Enrollment for the 2012-2013 benefits year will be August 1 through September 4th. Enrollment through https://myoebb.org/oebb/!pb.main will only be available August 15 through September 4 at noon. Enrollment August 1 through August 14 will be by paper application only.

Plan summaries, rate sheets, and applications will be available by May 30 or as available from OEBB in the following locations:
• Your building’s office
• The benefits page located on the District website
• Employee Benefits Department at the District Office

Additional information on benefits and the Benefit Fair will be sent around May 30th

Flexible Spending Account Meetings and New FSA Vendor

The District is seeking ways to help our employees stretch their hard earned dollars. Many of the District employees are unaware of or do not understand how the Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Section 125 plan will be of financial benefit to them. In finding the best way to get the information out to employees and be able to individually show how the plan can save employees money, the District is switching FSA vendors from BenefitHelp Solutions to American Fidelity Assurance Company for the 2012-13 benefits year. American Fidelity works exclusively with the education community and provides one on one education to employees of the benefits of participating in the Section 125 plan (FSA) at no cost to the District or the employee. The switch to American Fidelity will save the District money as well as provide an improved level of service to our employees.

The Section 125 plan gives employees an opportunity to pay unreimbursed medical expenses, dependent care expenses, and certain insurance premium payroll deductions on a tax-free basis. American Fidelity is familiar with all of the OEBB insurance plans and can suggest avenues of additional savings during the one on one meeting. The FSA plan is a tax savings benefit for employees.

In order for the District to offer a Section 125 plan to our employees, we do need to obtain a signed annual election form from each employee whether enrolling in the FSA or declining. American Fidelity representatives will be in our District this spring to offer information and answer questions about the plan. The District strongly encourages our employees to take advantage of this free individual financial education even if choosing to decline.

At each District location, a company representative will speak at a staff meeting to provide an overview and answer questions. Staff meeting dates and times will be announced. Company representatives will schedule individual meetings in each building following the staff meeting. Please take advantage of the opportunity to find salary savings by signing up for an individual meeting. Signup sheets will be provided at the staff meeting.
