What Can I do If My Child Is Failing?
One of the most common reasons that children fail in middle school is that
they aren't completing and turning in their homework consistently. Students
who turn in 100% of their homework pass their classes. Students who are failing
usually are missing one or more assignments. Therefore it becomes critical that
as parents you encourage your son or daughter to place a high priority on finishing
their work and turning it in on time. If a child is having trouble understanding
and finishing homework there are many opportunities at Brown to get extra help
including:
Homework Zone:
Meets after school on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday beginning Oct.20
Cost is FREE. Applications are available in the main office.
Tuesday/Thursday AM Tutoring:
Most teachers are available before school on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Check with
an individual teacher the day before to make sure they are available.
Panther Pause Academic Recovery Study Hall:
Meets Monday, Wednesday, and Friday during activity time for 20 minutes. Parent
permission needs to be filled out. Those are available in the main office
Addtionally, teachers and counselors can assist you on an individual basis
with questions and concerns.
The success of all students is our highest priority.
