TRANSCRIPTS

Students may request transcripts by filling out a “Glencoe Transcript Request Form” in the Counseling Center.  These requests will ONLY be processed on Thursdays.  Students are entitled to three official transcripts, per year, at no cost.  Any additional official transcripts will cost one dollar each; paid at the time of request.  (Payment in check or cash will be accepted; please make checks payable to Glencoe High School.) **Please note: SAT/ACT/AP scores should be sent directly from ACTstudent.org or collegeboard.org in order to be considered official.

Essential Skills Graduation Requirement

For the first time, the state will require that all students must demonstrate that they are proficient in certain “essential skills”—skills that are deemed critical for future success – before they are awarded a diploma.  For the class of 2013, students must demonstrate their proficiency in the Essential Skills gradually as follows:

  • Read and comprehend a variety of text
  • Write clearly and accurately

The class of 2014 must demonstrate the above proficiencies, with the addition of:

  • Apply mathematics in a variety of settings (class of 2014)

Beginning second semester, 2012, Glencoe counselors will be assigning current juniors who have not passed their state assessment in reading, math or writing to a tutorial class designed to support the students in meeting this essential skill requirement. Expectations for the tutorial class is like every other academic class in that students must attend every class and put in the effort in order to be successful and meet their graduation requirements.

Please don’t hesitate to contact your student’s counselor should you have any questions about the graduation requirements or your student’s individual graduation plan.
