The Crimson Florist has been busy since the beginning of the school year!
Here is a brief snap-shot of what they've been up to and what's planned for the rest of the year.
September 2010
- Sold: Dracaena Fall Baskets
- Sold: Hop Wreaths
- Planted Landscape Ferns for May, 2010 Plant Sale
October 2010
- Harvested chestnuts, drilled holes in them and designed them for November sales
November 2010
- Sold: Horse Chestnut Garland
- Donated Adirondack Chair for Farmington View "Barn Bash" Auction
- Decorated auditorium for Fall Concert with wreaths of copper Pin Maple leaves and pumpkins
- Sold: Fall Bench Planters
- Planted 500 daffodil bulbs in the Hillsboro Public Services Planters
December 2010
- Created over 50 Christmas wreaths for visiting Life Skills students from Poynter, Century and Transitions to decorate and take home to their families
- Sold: Christmas Birdhouse Planters
- Painted and assembled Wooden Mittens for Glencoe Staff Holiday Breakfast
January 2011
- January 11 - Provide greenhouse flora for Feeder Principal's Meeting
- Design & plant trug planters w/ 3 primroses each for Valentine sales - on sale Jan. 25 for $10.00
- Completion of two donations: Antique Dresser painted for Hillsboro Schools Foundation annual auction and Adirondack loveseat painted for the Glencoe Parent Club auction
February 2011
- Valentine Trug sales
- Feb. 1 - Black Eyed susan and Sweet Pea seeds planted in hanging baskets for May 2011 Plant Sale. Taking orders - they sell quickly!
- Feb. 21 - March 6 - Plant 6,000 seedlings and strawberries in preparation for the May Plant Sale

- Plant Sale fliers and postcards sent out
- Geraniums for Veterans Remembrance Day
- Mother's Day Baskets available for students to purchase for $5 each. Reserve by April 25th!
May 2011
- Post cards delivered to neighboring homes
- Tentative Plant Sale dates: May 2 - May 6 (Glencoe Greenhouse), May 7 - Hillsboro Farmer's Market
- New hanging baskets: Trailing Lofos
- Deliver Adirondack chairs, settees and rockers
- Decorate auditorium for Spring Concert
June 2011
- Plant Hillsboro Public Services Building planters with marigolds
- Greenhouse inventory
- Table decorations for staff's last day luncheon
On-going
- Every Tuesday afternoon students decorate Media Center tables to provide a little "sunshine" for staff Wednesday morning Academic Seminar
