Hilhi student, Elizabeth Dobbin, places 2nd in state viola solo competition!
Elizabeth Dobbin, Hilhi Junior, competed in district music competition and made it all the way to the state competition at the University of Oregon on Friday, May 2. Lizzi competed against 13 other state finalists on the viola. She was judged on musical stage presence, tone, music selection and overall performance. Congratulations Lizzi for taking second place in this category of musical talent! A special thank you to Kelly Dobbin, Lizzi's mother, for being Lizzi's piano accompanist for both her viola and vocal solos. Lizzi would also like to thank Mrs. Paula Reeve, Hilhi's own choir teacher for all the time she spent helping to prepare Lizzi. * On a side note…Elizabeth also took 11th place in her vocal solo category where she competed against 43 soprano soloists. Way to go Lizzi from your fellow Hilhi Spartan students and staff.
