If you would like to loan an item to be shown in the showcase, simply bring it to the school office and we will add it to the show collection! We are thankful for all loaned items.

Music In the Halls

Music In the Hall!
When you visit Tobias School, you have probably noticed all kinds of music being played in the hallway, along with the electronic message board and white board of information. Each week is a different theme of music. The goal is to provide exposure to all kinds of music with cultural heritage, historical significance, and musical variety for all students, parents, and staff. While students travel from their classrooms to music, P.E., cafeteria, assemblies, etc., they experience the music while visually reading information about the music on the electronic message board or the white board. And, yes, we are trying to “catch ‘em coming and going” with more positive educational exposure every single day. Week-long themes have included opera, Mozart, Gregorian Chant, classical string performances, American Broadway musicals, ethnic celebration music, Strauss Waltzes, Sousa Marches, Salsa, Celtic, and much, much more. In its second year, there continues to be overwhelming positive support and praise for the new educational experiences in the hall. We are in the process of developing our own library collection of CD’s. If you would like to make a donation of CD’s on a special theme that might characterize a country, culture, or style, please contact the office. Thanks.
