    Timeline for Groner projects

Scope of Work

  • Please note that project costs and schedules may fluctuate due to cost of materials and labor, conditions at the site, unforeseen and/or revised scope, and other factors. Total costs: $6.8 million

    COMPLETED

    • Window Replacements

In summer 2022, existing single-paned windows were replaced with new, double-paned windows for greater energy efficiency and comfort. New blinds were also installed.

    • Gym Repairs

After roof truss deficiencies were discovered during seismic work, the gym (and underlying cafeteria) were closed as a safety precaution while repairs were underway from August 2021 through April 2022. These included structural engineering and installation of steel beams to provide additional support for the gym's roof trusses. During that time, a temporary gym was rented and constructed in October 2021 at the back of the school to enable the school to continue with PE and other activities for students until the existing gym re-opened in April 2022.

    • Building Improvements

Groner underwent extensive renovations throughout the building, including safety and seismic upgrades, roofing and domestic water pipe replacement. During this work, deficiencies were discovered in a roof truss in the gym, requiring repairs.

NOTE: installation of new playground equipment was originally listed as a bond project. Before bond work started, the school had already purchased new equipment; no additional equipment is being installed by the bond.

    • Flexible Furniture

Flexible furniture (FFE) was delivered in summer 2018. Research shows this type of furniture enhances the learning environment and increases student engagement.
