Hello Jackson Families,
Linked here is information about the voluntary COVID screening testing program for students. This information will also be sent home with your child in hard copy. If you would like your child to participate, please complete and return the General Consent form and Authorization form as soon as possible. Testing will begin on Wednesday, Dec. 1, at our school. This means that a test kit will be sent home with your child on Tuesday, Nov. 30, and on each subsequent Tuesday for collection on Wednesday, Dec. 1, and each subsequent Wednesday (unless there is no school on either the kit distribution or collection day). Please note that negative screening testing results cannot be used to avoid quarantine if a child subsequently develops primary symptoms of COVID or is determined to have been in close contact with someone who has COVID. Please read the information carefully and contact our office if you have any questions.
Thank you!

¡Gracias!

Dear Jackson Families,
Welcome back to the 2020/2021 school year! Although the start to the year is not typical, we are ready to serve our students and families. Engaging in a Comprehensive Distance Model is new to all of us, but we are ready for the challenge. Last year, our theme was "Teamwork Makes the Dream Work." I can't think of a more appropriate focus for this school year as well. Together, with you as our partners, we will provide an outstanding educational experience for all Jackson Jaguars. Thank you for your confidence in our staff as we embark on this journey together.
Please contact me anytime; you can expect communication from me via a weekly emailed newsletter and a monthly Chip Chat on the First Thursday of each month at 12pm. If you would like more communication, including weekly events and announcements, please sign up for Remind via email or text. My code for Re mind is @jelem. I have a daily office hour at noon, if you'd like to make an appointment please e-mail Mrs. Garrison at: garrisos@hsd.k12.or.us.
In addition to our staff, Our PTA is incredibly active and supportive of our students and staff. They continually provide educational resources for our students, and we are so fortunate to work together. Please visit their website to learn more!
At Jackson, we are a family community which embraces a tradition of excellence that fosters emotional, social, and academic growth in a culture where everyone is happy, welcomed, included, and challenged.
Kind regards,
Kasia Gutierrez
