Local Government and Businesses

The Hillsboro School District also enjoys strong relationships with local governmental, business, higher education and non-profit organizations.
Local Government: City of Hillsboro, Washington County, Hillsboro Police Department, Hillsboro Fire Department, Washington County Sheriff’s Department, Hillsboro Parks & Recreation, Hillsboro Public Library.
Chamber: The Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce has facilitated business involvement in our schools, recognizes educators with the annual Crystal Apple Awards Program, and manages our School-to-Work program, which arranges career-related learning experiences for our high school students.
Businesses: Companies like Intel and Nike have employee matching grant programs where $10 for every hour of an employee’s volunteered time (subject to a 20-hour minimum) goes directly to the organization they’ve volunteered for. These companies have also provided large stand-alone grants and other in-kind donations to our District and schools. Other corporate partners are Synopsys, which supports our annual District Science Fair and provides grants to schools, Tuality Healthcare, Qorvo, and many others.
