Featured Event: Salmon Fry Release

Several elementary schools participated in the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife’s “Fish Eggs to Fry” program this fall, and are now releasing their baby salmon into the Tualatin River. Volunteers from the Association of NW Steelheaders are supporting this effort at Rood Bridge Park the weeks of December 8 and 15. On Monday, December 8, we caught up with students from Imlay as they set their fish free. Former HSD Administrator and longtime NW Steelheader member Grant Corliss shared: “Seeing the salmon life cycle firsthand in their classroom tanks and then releasing them into the river is nothing short of incredible!” Scroll down to see photos...

Evento destacado: Liberación de alevines de salmón
Varias escuelas primarias participaron este otoño en la iniciativa «Huevas de salmón a alevines» del Departamento de Pesca y Vida Silvestre de Oregón, y ahora están liberando sus crías de salmón en el Río Tualatin. Voluntarios de la asociación NW Steelheaders apoyan esta iniciativa en el Parque Rood Bridge durante las semanas del 8 y el 15 de diciembre.
