Alyssa Loza: Century High School Rotary Student of the Month

Congratulations to Alyssa Loza from Century High School who is Hillsboro Rotary Club Student of the Month. Alyssa received her award certificate accompanied by Century High School AVID teacher Lida Avery, her parents, David and Dyan Loza, and her grandparents, Susan and Howard Sperling. During her time at Century, Alyssa has been a varsity athlete on the soccer, basketball and softball teams while taking advanced classes, including an AP class each year, and participating in AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination, a college-readiness program). Alyssa had nice things to say about Century, noting their many extracurricular programs and academics, and that Century's a fun, welcoming and safe place for students. Next year, Alyssa plans to attend Fresno State where she has received a full-ride scholarship for D1 softball. She'd like to study sports education, sports medicine, and/or kinesiology and keep in contact with the game. Given her enthusiasm, we have no doubt she'll do great things on her path. All the best to Alyssa in her future endeavors!
