Glencoe Unified Soccer Team Takes 3rd Place at Regional Match

Congratulations are in order for Glencoe High School's Unified Soccer Team who won 3rd place in their regional match. Their coach William Johnson writes:

Rain was my constant companion today as I watched the Glencoe unified soccer team prove that neither drizzle nor downpour could dampen their spirits. Trust me, I've got the soggy notebook to prove it!

Mother Nature seemed determined to test everyone's resolve, alternating between gentle sprinkles and what felt like someone dumping buckets from the heavens. But hey, these athletes apparently didn't get the memo that they were supposed to be miserable.

The team sloshed and splashed their way through every play, looking more like synchronized swimmers at times than soccer players. But their determination paid off – that bronze medal now hanging around their necks glistens just as brightly as the puddles they played in.

Each player, soaked to the bone but grinning from ear to ear, gave it their absolute all. I'm pretty sure I saw one defender make a sliding tackle that doubled as a slip-n-slide halfway across the field!

And while we all left looking like we'd jumped into a pool fully clothed, the Glencoe unified team left with something better than dry clothes – they left with bronze medals and the satisfaction of knowing that not even the rainiest of days could stop them from shining.
