Scope of Work

Please note that project renderings, costs and schedules may change due to cost of materials and labor, conditions at the site, unforeseen and/or revised scope, and other factors. Project costs: $12.1 million
COMPLETED
- Upgraded Entry Vestibule, Add AC
Better monitoring and limited entry into the building resulted after upgrades to the entry vestibule were made in summer 2021. Also, HVAC upgrades continue with the addition of air conditioning in the cafeteria and library.
- Security Upgrades
In spring 2021, after completion of the gym, W.L. Henry's existing security systems were upgraded with such measures as security cameras, interior door locks, and alert/warning systems.
- Replace Covered Play Posts
Some of the posts in the covered play structure were found to have weakened; these were replaced in spring 2021.
- New Gym
An exciting addition to the campus is a new gymnasium that enables dedicated use for PE and activities, separate from the cafeteria, and which can serve as an emergency shelter for the community in case of a major earthquake. Construction was completed in March 2021; watch the virtual tour.
- Building Improvements
During the summer of 2020, the existing building underwent renovations that included seismic, HVAC and roofing upgrades.
- Parent/Bus Dropoff Areas
From June to August 2020, the parent/bus dropoff areas was modified to separate personal vehicles from buses, not only enhancing pedestrian and driver safety, but allowing for a smoother flow of traffic during dropoff and pickup times.
- Flexible Furniture
New flexible furniture (FFE) was delivered to W.L. Henry classrooms in summer 2019. Research has shown the furniture to promote engagement and learning.
- Playground
W.L. Henry's playground was installed on a safer, rubberized tile surface in summer 2018, and students can now play rain or shine on a new, synthetic turf area.
- Modular Building
Due to permitting delays, W.L. Henry's new modular building, originally scheduled for summer 2018, was installed in November 2018. The permanent building houses three classrooms and includes a bathroom facility. The modular replaces the temporary, two-classroom, no-bathroom portable, which was demolished on March 23, 2018.
