How to Volunteer

  • Volunteer

Volunteers make a big difference in the educational experience of our students. From helping out in the classroom, to providing career planning assistance, to running after-school clubs, volunteers are welcome and appreciated at all of our schools. Whether you’re interested in a one-time, one-hour project or an ongoing opportunity, there is a place for you in our school community. Because the safety of students is of primary importance, there are a few steps required in order for a volunteer application to be fully approved.

    Let’s get started!

    1. Complete the district-wide volunteer application or update/renew/check the status of your current application by clicking this link: volunteer application*
*The information you provide will be used to complete background checks through the state's criminal records system and the Oregon Department of Education's sexual misconduct database.)

    2. Once these checks have cleared, you will receive an email asking you to complete a survey and upload proof of COVID-19 vaccination, per the Governor’s vaccination mandate, or indicate you intend to request a medical or religious exception.

    3. Begin the fingerprint background clearance process by clicking here.

    4. Contact the school that interests you directly, either by email or phone, to see what opportunities they have available. Your volunteer application must be fully approved in order to begin volunteering.

For larger projects, donations or more information, contact our district-level volunteer coordinators - Coleen Garrett (high schools/middle schools), Maribel Sandoval (elementary schools) or by phone at 503-844-1770.
