Upcoming Events

  • We hope you are adjusting well to distance learning and you and your families are staying safe and healthy.  The PTO has been working hard to create some community-oriented events and find ways to support our McKinney staff and families.

We created a new McKinney shirt this year which is now available for purchase.  T-shirts are $10 and hooded sweatshirts are $20.  If you would like to order one, please complete the form below.  You can pay at Paypal.me/mckinneypto or bring a payment to the school (in an envelope with your student's name and teacher on it, payable to McKinney PTO).  Orders are due by 11/27 and will be handed out by mid-December in time for the holidays.  PTO members will be at McKinney 11/18 from 12-6 during supply pick-up if you'd like to place your order in person then.

We are also planning a bottle and can drive during supply pick-up on Wednesday 11/18 between 12-6pm.  The Bottle Drop program has a matching program from 11/15-12/1 so that for any bottles and cans turned in during that time period, Bottle Drop will pay 20% in matching funds.  You can bring your bottles and cans to the school on the 18th and we'll take them to Bottle Drop and/or you can pick up the blue collection bags from us at the school, fill them, and take them to your closest Bottle Drop collection location.

MOD Pizza Restaurant Day is on 11/18 from 10:30am-10:00 pm at the MOD Pizza across from Costco (4554 NE Cornell Rd) will give 20% of proceeds to McKinney for anyone who mentions McKinney.  You can also place an online order and use coupon code: GR167475M to give credit to McKinney.  Funds raised at our restaurant nights will go towards distance learning supplies to help students at home.  https://www.groupraise.com/events/167475

Finally, we are planning a Turkey Trot on 11/27.  This is a great opportunity to get outside for some exercise while creating a sense of community. If you choose, you can also help raise funds to go towards the cover over the play structure.  A small prize will be awarded to all students who participate in the Turkey Trot. Prizes will also be given to the class that has the most participation in the Turkey Trot. Other prizes will be given to the students who walk/run the longest distance and for those who raise money.  More details will follow soon! You can snap a pic of yourself out for a walk or jog and send that to us at mckinneypto@hotmail.com.  To be considered for the distance awards, please use a tracking app (Map My Run, Map My Fitness, Strava, RunKeeper, Nike Run, etc) or some other way to track exercise, take a picture of the exercise log and send it in.

Thank you to Peak Landscape and the families who helped clean up the garden space, plant drought-resistant plants and spread new river rocks and bark dust.

Please let us know if you have any questions, suggestions, or ideas.
