Dear Farmington View Staff and Families,

When we last wrote to you in early June, we let you know that Principal Jen McCalley would be extending her medical leave of absence through the middle of September and that Natasha Echeverria would continue serving as the interim principal until her return.

Today, I am writing to inform you that Principal McCalley has decided to retire effective September 9. Therefore, Ms. Echeverria will be serving as interim principal for the entirety of the 2023-24 school year.

As a reminder, Ms. Echeverria did her student teaching at Farmington View before being hired on as a staff member in August 2017. For the next four years, she taught 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades at the school; and in 2022 was the Summer School lead. In the 2022-23 school year, she was serving as Farmington View’s Instructional Coach and STEAM teacher on special assignment (TOSA) before being asked in mid-May to serve as interim principal for the remainder of the year. She has been doing an excellent job of supporting students, staff, and families as well as planning for the fall, and I am confident she will continue doing so in the year to come.

Together with our Human Resources team, we will make a determination about a permanent principal by next spring.

Please join me in congratulating Ms. Echeverria on her continuing service as interim principal, and wishing Ms. McCalley well in her retirement.

    Sincerely,

    Travis Reiman

    Superintendent

    Atentamente,

    Travis Reiman

    Superintendente

Dear Farmington View Elementary School Families and Staff,

I am writing today to let you know that Principal Jen McCalley will be taking a medical leave of absence through the end of the school year. The decision was not an easy one for her to make, but after consulting with her physician it was determined that a leave would allow her to best prioritize her health and wellbeing to ensure a full and speedy recovery.

During her absence, Natasha Echeverria will serve as the interim principal and will oversee the daily operations of the school. Ms. Echeverria did her student teaching at Farmington View before being hired on as a staff member in August 2017. For the next four years, she taught 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades at the school. She currently serves as Farmington View’s Instructional Coach and STEAM teacher on special assignment (TOSA). Her administrative experience includes being the Summer School lead in 2022, and stepping in as a substitute principal as needed in the 2022-23 school year. I am confident she will do an excellent job supporting Farmington View through the end of June.

Principal McCalley has expressed that she intends to share updates on her progress as she has more information, and greatly appreciates everyone’s understanding, support, and well-wishes during this time.

Feel free to reach out to Ms. Echeverria with any questions or assistance you may need at

Echeverría si tienen cualquier pregunta o necesitan asistencia sobre algún asunto a echevern@hsd.k12.or.us. También puede comunicarse conmigo a garciali@hsd.k12.or.us.
