NHPI Family Gathering Night - Dec. 3
Aloha everyone! On Wednesday, December 3rd, many of our NHPI families and allies came together to learn about what our students and families wanted for family engagements based on our collaborative work from previous gatherings. So many were energized to see ways our NHPI ohana could grow. We had a great time making our own Spam musubis for dinner that night
NHPI Family Gathering Night - Nov. 5
Aloha Kakahiaka! Thanks to all who came out to West Union Elementary School on Wednesday, November 5 for our Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander family gathering - it meant a lot that you were there in community with us with some inspiring ukulele playing! We were excited to welcome Hillsboro School District Superintendent Travis Reiman, and Assistant Superintendents - Audrea Neville and Brooke Nova. Mahalo! Mahalo! Mahalo!
Overview
In our schools and classrooms, we take time to explore the rich history and culture of people who are NHPI. We work to rebuild our classroom communities as we elevate the stories, contributions, and experiences of the NHPI communities with love, empathy, and inclusivity. Thank you to our Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Hillsboro School District students, staff, families, and community members who continue to join us in the efforts to build and sustain a culture of belonging. We admire you and we’re incredibly thankful for your talents, advocacy, and brilliance.
