    June 8, 2020

    Greetings North Plains Families!

Congratulations to our seniors graduating from Glencoe today!  I've set up a google meets for NP staff to chat with any seniors who would like to say hello to their former teachers and staff.  Usually the kids come to the school and we get to say congratulations in person, but with like everything else, this year is very different.  The chat will be tomorrow, the 9th, from 4-4:15 PM.  Here is the link https://meet.google.com/gdh-wdfn-xyx   I have no idea who might be on, but hopefully we will have some students and staff that join!

Remember the chrome book drop off this week; Wed. the 10th from 9-1 and Thursday the 11th from 5-7PM.  This will happen in the Jesse Mays parking lot.  Hopefully it won't be a downpour!   We will be handing our 6th grade certificates at the same time.   Yearbooks won't be ready at this time as they won't be shipped until late July or even August, so we'll have to do that in the fall.

6th grade students will have the opportunity to have their photo taken with a great sign: 6th grade It will say class of 2020 of course:)  this will be available from 8AM to 5PM on Wed. the 10th at Jesse Mays.  Thank you PTO for putting this together, along withh the packages for our 6th graders that will be delivered today!

The gym construction is coming along very well, and now they are starting on the parking lot.  Due to the amount of rain, the gym is a little behind and is not scheduled to open Nov. 12.

The Humane Society has a fun program called Remarkable Readeres.  Click here for more information!

I've posted seveal pictures of your students and I would love to have some more!  I've finally learned how to size them, but it's a process and I still have a couple to load.   Please send me photos and I'll get them up!  Becky Rios

Please know that any online/real time sessions will be recorded for the safety of both the students and the staff.  Another reason to record would be for the benefit of a student who could not attend during that time.

Please remember that all district play grounds are CLOSED until further notice.

I can't believe it's the last week of school, what a whirl wind!  It's been sad not to go to school each day and see all the kids smiling faces!  At this point we don't know what will happen in the fall, but we CAN expect it to be different.  I will post updates on this page as I know them throughout the summer, and feel free to reach out to me at any point with questions or concerns.  You can also just say hello!  I will be attending some last day classroom "meets" this week to say goodbye to students, but plesae tell them hello for me and that I miss them very much!

    Have a great summer!

    Becky Rios
