Career Pathways
Choosing a career learning area is an important way to help clarify your goals, provide you with a relevant selection of elective courses, and prepare you to succeed in post-secondary education and/or careers. By selecting a CLA, you strengthen the opportunity to gain the qualities and skills that are vital for employment and productivity in business, industry and the community.
HSD organizes career and college pathways utilizing the National Career Clusters framework from Advance CTE. The framework consists of 14 Clusters and 72 Sub-Clusters that serve as the primary organizational structures for career pathway programs. These structures are supported by five Cluster Groupings aligned to purpose and impact of included careers, and three Cross-Cutting Clusters that provide both skills and careers that can stand alone and intersect with all other Clusters.
Within each CLA are several pathways that direct you to more focused study for specific goals.
