Transfer Information

Transfers may be requested to schools that offer a Dual Language program. Every attempt will be made to place a student at a school offering a Dual Language program, if space is available.

Transportation is generally the responsibility of the family; however, hubs have been set up to accommodate transfer students in certain areas. If students can get themselves to the hub location, they may be able to ride a bus to their transfer school:

  • There is a hub at Reedville Elementary School for students going to South Meadows.
  • There is a hub at Eastwood Elementary School for students going to South Meadows.

Middle and high school students will likely not be able to ride elementary buses to get to these hub locations as the elementary buses are very full. Also, keep in mind that the "walk zone" increases from 1 mile at elementary school to 1.5 miles at middle and high school. Therefore, some students would not qualify for bus service.

Regardless, if you would like to request transportation for your child, you will need to fill out an Alternate Pick-Up and Drop-Off form and return it to the Transportation Office as soon as possible. They will attempt to accommodate your request. They may need to wait until school has been in session for a couple of weeks to see how many riders are actually on each bus to see if more students can be added. Your patience and understanding is greatly appreciated!
