Please note that project costs and schedules may fluctuate due to cost of materials and labor, conditions at the site, unforeseen and/or revised scope, and other factors. Project costs: $11.1 million

COMPLETED

  • Roofing

The roofing was restored over parts of the main building in summer 2020. Eyebrow dormer metal also was replaced.

  • Security

In spring 2020, Eastwood's existing security systems were upgraded and enhanced with several additional measures, including:

    • Card key access
    • Security cameras
    • Strobes
    • Visual warning inside and outside the building
  • New Gym

A new gymnasium will allow exclusive use for PE and activities, separate from the cafeteria as well as provide facilities for youth recreational volleyball and basketball. Pre-construction of the gym started in March 2019, with the structure erected in June 2019. This project was completed in January 2020.

  • Playground, Flexible Furniture

Students will be excited about their playground upgrades that promote healthy play and exercise, and the new flexible furniture (FFE) they will have in their classrooms that stimulates engagement and learning. These projects were completed in August 2019.

  • Building Renovations, New Modular Building

Eastwood underwent a number of building enhancements to upgrade safety and renovate the school. These include security and seismic upgrades, roofing, and the addition of heating to the HVAC system. The existing portable buildings were replaced with a permanent modular building with four classrooms that will serve the preschool at Eastwood. These projects were completed in August 2019.

  • Parent/Bus Dropoff

The parking lots and parent/bus dropoffs were completely remodeled at Eastwood during the summer of 2018. The traffic pattern of the new dropoff areas now separates personal vehicles from the buses, not only enhancing pedestrian and driver safety, but allowing for a smoother flow of traffic during dropoff and pickup times. The project was completed in late August 2018.
