Based on neighborhood meeting feedback, a revised site plan was developed, moving the new gym to the northeast side of the parking lot, and keeping the modular building at the current site of the portables. Fence lines have been added around these buildings.
Architects and project staff presented the proposed design and site plan for Eastwood improvements, including:
- New gymnasium (built to immediate occupancy seismic standards, will serve as a community emergency shelter after a major earthquake)
- Adding heat to the HVAC system
- Seismic upgrades
- New playground with synthetic play surface
- Replacing existing portables with a new, four-classroom modular building
- Safety and security improvements
Based upon public input at the meeting, the district is considering locating the new gym to the east of the recently-constructed parking lot, subject to site and engineering evaluation. The site plan and design will be posted after this evaluation.
