In the old library, crews have demolished the interior and are now installing the framing, ductwork and cabling for six new classrooms. Some lockers were moved from the hallways to make way for future doorways into the classrooms.
As work continues on demolishing the old library inside, crews stage equipment and materials in the outside courtyard. This area is now closed off and inaccessible to non-construction personnel.
Crews are preparing the old library for demolition on April 29, to be replaced by the new library/media center addition.
Evergreen Middle School's bond project to expand the school was presented at a neighborhood meeting. Exhibits included the proposed site plan, building elevations, and floor plans. Attendees had the opportunity to ask questions of the project architects and consultants. See the meeting notes and exhibits.
Construction is expected to begin by summer 2019, subject to completion of design and construction documents, as well as land use and permit approvals. The project is expected to be completed in summer 2020.
