Cement amendment was added to the field. This helps stabilize the underlying soil for the synthetic turf.
Six lights were installed around Glencoe's multi-use turf field. These employ LED lamps that direct lighting on the field, not diffused into the surrounding area.
The Glencoe site has been excavated and leveled.
Construction on the turf field has started: the existing grass turf is gone and grading has started to level the field.
The official groundbreaking of the new synthetic turf field at Glencoe High School took place on Wednesday, June 6, 11:30 a.m. The Hillsboro Hops Fund announced that they are donating $300,000 toward installation of the Hillsboro Hops Youth Field to accommodate youth baseball and softball. The youth field will occupy the southwest corner of Glencoe's field. In addition to the new turf, Glencoe will have lighting to enable evening use of the multi-purpose field.
