COMPLETED

• Blacktop Replacement

The final renovation at Ladd Acres took place in summer 2022 to replace the deteriorating blacktop in the play area, refreshing the surfaces for student activities and safety.

• New Gym

Construction of a new gymnasium began in October 2020 and was completed in summer 2021 at the rear of the campus. Students now have dedicated space for PE and activities separate from the cafeteria.

• Building Improvements

In summer 2021, Ladd Acres underwent major renovations throughout its buildings that included seismic upgrades and the addition of air conditioning to the HVAC system. ADA access to the stage is now possible with the addition of a lift. The entry vestibule also was upgraded to provide better monitoring and limit entry into the building.

• Playground

An upgraded, ADA-accessible playground with an all-weather turf play area has become an exciting addition for the Ladd Acres community. This was completed in summer 2021.

• Flexible Furniture, Domestic Water Pipe Replacement

In summer 2019, Ladd Acres classrooms received new flexible furniture (FFE) that promotes engagement and learning. Old domestic water piping was replaced in summer 2019 as well.

• Parent/Bus Dropoff

Ladd Acres' parking lots and parent/bus dropoffs were completely remodeled in summer 2018. The traffic pattern of the new dropoff areas will separate personal vehicles from the buses, not only enhancing pedestrian and driver safety, but allowing for a smoother flow of traffic during dropoff and pickup times.

• Fencing

New fencing and gates were installed in summer 2018 to enclose the perimeter of the school building for additional safety and security.
