Photo 1: the rubberized tile surface has been added to the new playground, which is almost ready for use.

Photos 1-3: after cutting it to the right size to fit, crew members carry one of the last exterior insulated wall panels to its location, lift it into place, then firmly pound it to lock it against its neighbor.

Photo 1: each piece of structural steel is "flown" by crane to its selected position, in this case, the second column on the south side.

Photo 2: once in position, the crew bolts the piece onto the foundation.

Photo 4: in a well-orchestrated operation, the crane operator adjusts the vertical position of the beam, a crew member on the ground steers the beam with a rope, and a crew member in a lift maneuvers the beam close to the bolt holes.

Photos 1 and 2: the structural steel has arrived! Piles of the steel columns and beams are laid around the site, ready to be installed. Weather permitting, the steel is expected to be erected early next week.

Photos 2 and 3: concrete has been poured for the pads on which the exterior HVAC units will sit between the school buildings.
