Project Scope

Watch virtual tour of gymnasium

Timeline for Minter Bridge projects

Please note that project costs and schedules may fluctuate due to cost of materials and labor, conditions at the site, unforeseen and/or revised scope, and other factors. Total costs: $8.2 million

COMPLETED

  • Trash Bin Enclosure

A dedicated space was completed in summer 2022 to enclose the garbage and recycling bins at the east side of the building. Fencing will help to secure them and keep children away from the bins.

  • Security Gates

Gates were added in February 2022 to better secure perimeter fencing.

  • New Playground

A new playground was added at the back of the campus, bringing in new climbing equipment for students.

  • Upgrade Canopy Roofs, Entry Vestibule, Safety/Security

In summer 2021, the existing canopy roofs were updated with new roofing and new aluminum coatings. The entry vestibule was renovated to upgrade the capability to monitor and limit entry into the building. In addition, Minter Bridge's existing security systems were upgraded and enhanced. These improvements include security cameras, interior door locks, alert/warning systems, and other safety measures.

  • New Gym

The new gymnasium started construction in May 2020 and was completed in February 2021, enabling dedicated use for PE and activities, separate from the cafeteria. The gym was constructed to "immediate occupancy" seismic standards, enabling it to serve, as needed, as an emergency shelter resource for the community in case of a major earthquake.

  • Parent/Bus Dropoff Area Upgrades

Improvements were made in summer 2020 to the parent and bus dropoff areas, including an extension of the existing lot. The new design separates buses from regular vehicular traffic to improve traffic flow, pedestrian and driver safety, and efficiency of dropoffs.

  • New Modular Building

The existing portables were replaced with a new, permanent modular building that includes two classrooms and a restroom. This work was completed in summer 2020.

  • Improvements

In summer 2020, renovations were made to the existing building that included seismic upgrades and new roofing, as well as the addition of heating to the existing HVAC system.

  • Classroom Walls and Doors

Walls and doors were constructed around classrooms to improve the teaching environments, and reduce noise and distractions. This project was completed in August 2019.

  • Flexible Furniture

New flexible furniture (FFE) was delivered to Minter Bridge classrooms in summer 2019. Research has shown that this type of furniture helps stimulate student engagement and learning.
