2020 - New Gym & Dropoff

A new memorial sign welcomes students and visitors to the North Plains Elementary campus. It is sited at the entry to the school, just before the bus dropoff and staff parking lot. Behind the sign is the parent dropoff and parking lot as well as the new gym.

Photo 1: finishing touches are being added to the gym, and pads are being installed on the walls behind the end-court basketball backboards. Crew members take a quick break to pose in front of their handiwork.

Photos 1 and 2: final coats and striping for basketball and volleyball have been completed on the gym floor. Remaining tasks include installation of threshholds and baseboard.
Photos 3 and 4: bathroom mirrors have been installed above the sinks. Just behind are the ADA-accessible, gender-neutral bathrooms and to each side are the boys and girls bathrooms, with doors now installed for the stalls.

Photos 1 and 2: installation of the wood floor is nearly complete. Next comes additional curing before sanding, polishing and painting of game lines for basketball and volleyball.

Photos 1 and 2: the gym has been cleared of equipment so installation of the wood floor can begin. Crew members have laid plastic sheeting to prepare for cutting, piecing and laying the wood.

Base rock has been laid on the gym site. Crew members are starting the framing for the concrete foundation and have already cleared trees on the northwest side of the campus to prepare for construction of the new dropoff area.
