The playground is complete!
Photo 1: Synthetic turf is being laid onto the play area. After some heating and settling, the turf will be cut to shape, stretched across the surface, and tacked into place.
Photo 2: The play structure installation is nearly complete. The holes under the posts need to be filled with concrete.
Photo 3: Workers drill holes into the rubberized tiles (inside 16 columns). After installation of the tiles around the play structure, the holes will allow for drainage into the underlying pervious concrete.
Assembly of the play structure continues.
Installation of the play structure has begun!
The pervious concrete layer is installed. This forms the base for the rubberized tiles and play structure, and allows water to seep into the ground below instead of running off.
Concrete is poured into forms that establish the borders of the new playground area.
