LHS Presents Heathers The Musical
Description
NOTE: TARGET AUDIENCE AGES 14 and older
APRIL 20, 21, 27, 28 @ 7:30 pm
Liberty High School’s Peregrine Productions is pleased to announce the Oregon State High School premiere of Kevin Murphy and Laurence O'Keefe's HEATHERS the Musical, based on the Daniel Waters 1989 movie HEATHERS.
The musical features sophomore, Madison Baldwin in the role of Veronica Sawyer, a high school senior, who very much wants to fit into the popular clique of the Heathers; three mean girls who pretty much run the school. Senior, Caleb Rust, plays Veronica’s emotionally damaged boyfriend, JD, who seeks vengeance on a cruel society, that is high school.
While the 1989 movie became a cult sensation, the musical takes a turn allowing us to hear the joy and pain of trying to find one’s place in a world that seems harsh and unforgiving.
Complete with the inherent trials and tribulations found in high school and the original movie HEATHERS, Liberty High School is using this musical as a vehicle to communicate to the greater Hillsboro School District community that despite the hardships of teen life there is hope and there is help, if needed.
HEATHERS – the Musical runs April 20,21,27 and 28 in the Liberty High School Performing Arts Center at 7:30 in the evening. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door. Adult tickets are $12 and Student tickets are $10.
