Hillsboro Healthy Kids Track Meet

More than 430 students in grades 4-6 who have been participating in the Healthy Kids after-school track program since spring break participated in a culminating track meet at Hare Field on Thursday, May 23.

At the meet, students competed in the 100 meter dash, the 400 meter run, long jump, and turbo javelin. Athletes also got to participate in stick jumping, which is an introduction to the pole vault.

Grad students from Pacific University created an obstacle course for the students and the Timbers’ very own Timber Joey attended to sign autographs.

Hillsboro Healthy Kids (HHK) provides students with the opportunity to increase fitness and gain knowledge on choices to maximize their physical, mental, and emotional health.

HHK is a privately-funded program whose title sponsor is Providence Sports Medicine. If you’d like to contribute to the expansion of HHK, please contact Rian Petrick, 503-844-1344.
