Featured Event: Proud to be HSD Festival
May 13, 2019 - It was a hot one in downtown Hillsboro on Saturday, May 11, but that didn’t stop the crowds from coming to our 5th Annual Proud to be HSD Festival. Attendees had a great time watching student performances, interacting with students in the STEAM Pavilion, learning more about high school career-related offerings in the Career and College Pathways area, experiencing a Dual Language classroom in our Proud to be HSD Trailer, admiring student art and exploring downtown businesses in the Art Walk, participating in the inaugural Youth Cornhole Tournament, visiting partner booths, and, of course, cheering on their favorite mascot in the Mascot Challenge! The Mascot Challenge was big this year, with 18 mascots represented. Three-time winner Barley from the Hillsboro Hops was celebrated with a retirement ceremony at the beginning of the event, and served as a judge instead of as a participant in the Challenge. In the end, Glencoe emerged victorious and will keep the prestigious Mascot Challenge trophy for the next year. Many thanks to all of our wonderful staff, students, volunteers, and others who made the event possible, and to everyone who showed up to support us. We had a great time and we look forward to seeing you next year! Scroll down to see photos...
