Teens Talk Tech & The Psychology of Boredom

October 21, 2019 - The final two events of Hillsboro Reads are Teens Talk Tech and The Psychology of Boredom, both taking place at the Brookwood Public Library, 2850 NE Brookwood Pkwy. 

Teens Talk Tech involves a panel of high school students debating the pros and cons of technology and answering questions about teens and technology use from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22.

The Psychology of Boredom includes a screening of Manoush Zomorodi’s TED Talk, “How Boredom Can Lead to Your Most Brilliant Ideas, followed by a facilitated discussion with Dr. Joseph Rhinewine of Portland Mindfulness Therapy, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26. 

Hillsboro Reads, sponsored by the Hillsboro Public Library, focused on Zomorodi’s book “Bored and Brilliant: How Spacing Out Can Unlock Your Most Productive and Creative Self.”


21 de octubre de 2019 - Los dos últimos eventos de Hillsboro Reads son Teens Talk Tech y La psicología del aburrimiento, ambos en la Biblioteca Pública Brookwood, 2850 NE Brookwood Pkwy. 

Teens Talk Tech involucra a un panel de estudiantes de preparatoria que discuten las ventajas  y desventajas de la tecnología y responden preguntas sobre el uso de la tecnología por parte de los adolescentes, desde las 6 p.m. hasta las 7:30 p.m. el martes, 22 de octubre.

La psicología del aburrimiento incluye una proyección de la plática de TED de Manoush Zomorodi, “How Boredom Can Lead to Your Most Brilliant Ideas,” seguida por una discusión facilitada por el Dr. Joseph Rhinewine de Portland Mindfulness Therapy, de 1 p.m. a 2 p.m. el sábado, 26 de octubre.
