October 4, 2019 - The Glencoe Chamber Choir, a select ensemble representing some of the most dedicated and high-achieving singers in the Glencoe choral program, performed two numbers for the Board at their meeting on September 24 under the direction of Mary Brandenstein. The first piece, titled “Fre O,” translated as “Oh Brother,” was a traditional Haitian song expressing the need for healing. The second was a comical adaptation of the famous pop song “All Star,” set in the style of a Madrigal. Each morning during zero period, the students work together to deepen their connections to each other while developing diverse musical literature. Their mission statement is to transcend social barriers in a celebration of shared humanity and musical excellence.
