June 1, 2023 - Congratulations to Lorelei Ruiz, a senior at Glencoe High School, who is Hillsboro Rotary Student of the Month. Lorelei received her award certificate accompanied by her mom, Gloria, brother, GianCarlo, grandparents Dale and Julie, graduation coach Karen Perez De Pavon, and counseling secretary, Graciela Hernandez. Great to see lots of visitors supporting her! Lorelei has faced the challenges of high school head-on and will be a featured speaker at her graduation ceremony. She has used her artistic abilities to write a children's book, and is a small business owner, selling her creations at local markets, including the Hillsboro Saturday Market and Tuesday Night Market. She also works for Hillsboro Downtown Partnership, and is very involved in her community. After graduation Lorelei plans to attend Portland Community College to learn a trade, either electrical work or body work, or possibly both. She also plans to continue vending at the markets. Congratulations to Lorelei on channeling her creativity, and we wish her all the best in her future pursuits!
