Joy Valdez: Hillsboro High School Rotary Student of the Month

November 2, 2023 - Congratulations Joy Valdez, a senior at Hillsboro High School, who is Hillsboro Rotary Student of The Month. Joy received her award certificate accompanied by Hilhi leadership teacher, Sarah Cole. She has been involved in student council all four years, this year as ASB president at Hilhi. Activities at the school this fall include dances, fund-raising for breast cancer awareness, and coming soon they will have a Help for the Holidays event and donate gifts and necessities to those in need. Also coming up is the OASC fall conference, where Joy and a few of her fellow ASB members will present two workshops about team bonding. After graduation, Joy plans to attend the University of Oregon and study Business Management and Marketing. She currently takes an off-campus class where she runs a coffee shop at the First Tech headquarters and plans to run her own business, or pursue a career in business and marketing.
