Violet Bland: Liberty High School Rotary Student of The Month

November 2, 2023 - Congratulations Violet Bland, a senior at Liberty High School, who is Hillsboro Rotary Student of the Month. Violet received her award certificate accompanied by her mother, Sally Bland, and teacher, Shannon Whitman. Three important aspects of Violet's life are school, church and dance. At school, she participated in the leadership program, which taught Violet the importance of communications skills and how to work with others while coordinating events. She currently serves as ASB president, and has taken on the Unity Dance, a dance for people of all abilities, which is open to all high schools, and is held at the Elks Club, as her senior project. At her church, Violet's activities include a mission trip to Canada to help others with yard work, painting, and helping at assisted living homes. Here she learned the importance of helping others and giving back to the community. Violet has been dancing since she was 3, and has performed with the dance competition team at Liberty. Dance has taught her that hard work is the only way to improve. She has helped teach others through her studio, and is now teaching dance on her own. After graduation she plans to attend George Fox University and study kinesiology or exercise science. Congratulations Violet, and all the best to you in your future endeavors!
