State Legislators Visit HSD Schools
July 12, 2018 - The Joint Committee on Student Success, a bipartisan group of Oregon legislators, visited South Meadows Middle School and Witch Hazel Elementary yesterday (7/11) as part of statewide school tour to bring a plan to improve public education and provide adequate funding. Assistant HSD Superintendent Travis Reiman, HSD Director of Federal Programs Olga Acuña, HSD Board member Mark Watson and other school staffers gave the legislators a first-hand look at students in the Migrant/Bilingual Summer School Program enjoying a wide-range of learning in classes from cooking to computer programming to STEAM activities.
