Liberty High School Unified Basketball Team Takes Third in State

March 15, 2019 - Congratulations are in order for the Liberty High School Unified Basketball Team! They took 3rd place in the state tournament held in Corvallis on Friday and Saturday, March 8 and 9. Unified sports teams are co-ed and combine athletes who have special needs with partners who do not. For Unified Basketball, there are three athletes and two partners on the court at all times. Coaches Erik Ingebretsen, a father of one of the athletes, and Adaptive PE teacher Bridget Brown couldn’t be prouder of their team for their effort, accomplishments, and sportsmanship. One of the pictures even shows the Liberty team with the team from Lebanon who they beat for 3rd place, because according to Ingebretsen: “even though we won, everyone in Unified became friends.”
