HSF Commemorates $572,790 in Donations to the District in 2021-22

July 8, 2022 - Members of the Hillsboro Schools Foundation’s staff and Board of Directors attended the Hillsboro School Board meeting on Tuesday, June 21, to provide a report on the year’s activities. Through several special events, fundraisers, and the cultivation of sustained partnerships with local businesses and individuals, the Foundation was able to raise substantial funds in support of HSD schools, staff, and students in the 2021-22 school year. A few of the highlights included the annual Innovative Grants process, in which more than $50,000 was awarded to staff and parent groups for projects that will be implemented in 2022-23; the K-6 Career Kits initiative, in which $200,000 was donated for the creation of kits that will help elementary students gain awareness about a variety of career opportunities available to them; elementary library support, which provides $100,000 for the purchase of bilingual/bicultural books for the libraries at all HSD elementary schools; and $100,000 donated by the Siegel Foundation in support of training and additional elementary school grants. To emphasize the sum total of these gifts, HSF Executive Director Aron Carleson presented the District with a commemorative check in the amount of $572,790.
