FAFSA/ORSAA Challenge Progress

We want to say a big congratulations to the FAFSA/ORSAA Challenge schools who met their goal during this last progress period:

Central Linn High School, Crane Union High School, Dayville School, Early College High School, Hillsboro Online Academy, Huntington School, Jordan Valley High School, Lost River Jr/Sr High School

Here are some bright spots:

  • More than 35% of schools increased their completion rates by 10 percentage points or more from January 1 to March 1.
  • Hillsboro Online Academy increased from 10% to 64% (and met their goal as a result).
  • Butte Falls Charter School and Silvies River Charter School had a third of their class complete a financial aid application between January 1 and March 1.
  • Knappa High School and Metropolitan Learning Center raised their completion rates by 23 points.

Check out your school’s progress in the Class of 2020 FAFSA/ORSAA Completion Rates report. This report contains the combined 2020-21 FAFSA/ORSAA completion rates as of March 1, 2020 for the senior class at most Oregon public high schools. The Higher Education Coordinating Commission (HECC) will release a subsequent report that will show completion rates as of June 1, 2020.

The purpose of these reports is to inform Oregon public high schools of their completion rates over time, allowing them to track progress and measure success. When students complete the FAFSA/ORSAA, they gain access to critical financial aid which helps them to achieve their postsecondary goals.
