Black Student Success Summit

April 23, 2024 - Last weekend (4/20-21), 7 students represented HSD at the Black Student Success Summit hosted by B.E.A.M.(Black Educational Achievement Movement). At this event, students from across Washington County were invited to network with college and career recruiters, meet HBCU alumni (Historically Black Colleges and Universities), attend engaging workshops, learn about Black Greek organizations, win prizes, and forge new relationships with peers. This was a special opportunity for students to connect with organizations like the United Negro College Fund, Clark Atlanta University, Prairie View A&M, Oregon State University, PCC, Morehouse, trade schools, and more. Congratulations to Maxwell Smith from Glencoe High School who was awarded a technology scholarship.Thank you so much B.E.A.M. for the day of inspiration, connection, and for creating a space where our students could experience such Black excellence!
